This here thing, this Remake Patek Philippe, what they call a PP Calatrava 6119R-001, well, it’s somethin’ else. I seen a lot of things in my day, but this one, it’s got folks talkin’. They say it’s a remake, like they took an old one and made it new again. Cost ya a pretty penny, this one. I heard tell it’s ’bout $29 somethin’ or other. Don’t rightly know what that means, but it sounds like a heap of money to me.

They say this PP Calatrava 6119R-001 is over in Japan, someplace called Chrono24. Japan, now that’s a far piece away. Imagine that. This little thing travelin’ all that way. You can get it there, if you’re willin’ to pay, I reckon. And it ain’t no good in the rain neither, just 30m water resistance. Lord knows how much that is, I just know it ain’t much!

This here Patek Philippe, they’re tryin’ to make this Calatrava thing popular again, I reckon. Givin’ it fresh momentum, is what they call it. Sounds like a horse race to me. But I guess some folks like these fancy things. Me, I’d rather have a good pie, but that’s just me.

Now, this here watch, it’s a small little thing, 39mm they say. And thin, too, 8.08mm. Don’t know what them numbers mean, but it sounds small to me. Like a little button on a shirt. They say it’s got a crystal back, whatever that means. Sapphire crystal, they call it. Sounds like somethin’ from a storybook.

I heard they got one that’s a tad bigger, 40mm. And that one’s 8.53mm thick. Still small in my book, but I reckon some folks like it that way. This one’s also got that sapphire crystal back. And just like the other one, you best keep it dry, it’s just water-resistant to 30m. Seems like these fancy things ain’t made for real work.

Then there’s this other one, they say it’s 31mm. And real thin, only 2.55mm. Sounds like a little sliver of somethin’. They say it’s got 164 parts. 164! Can you imagine that? All them little pieces in somethin’ so small. And they say it’s got a power reserve. Means it’ll keep tickin’ for a while, I reckon. But who needs all that, I say? Just tell the time, that’s all I need.

Here’s what I think, plain and simple:

  • Remake Patek Philippe PP Calatrava 6119R-001 – that’s the name, long as my arm.
  • ‘Bout $29 somethin’ – that’s a lot of money for a little thing.
  • Over in Japan – that’s far, far away.
  • 39mm or 40mm – still small to me.
  • Sapphire crystal – sounds fancy, but I don’t know what it is.
  • 30m water resistance – means don’t get it wet!
  • 164 parts – that’s a lot of little bits!

This whole Patek Philippe Calatrava thing, it’s all a bit much for me. I reckon some folks like it, with their fancy words and all. But me, I like things simple. This watch, it’s like one of them fancy cakes. Looks pretty, but ain’t got much substance, you know? And I don’t rightly know why people want this remake thing.

If you ask me, this PP Calatrava 6119R-001 is just a lot of fuss about nothin’. But then again, what do I know? I’m just sayin’ what I see. And what I see is a lot of money for a little watch that tells the time. You can get a watch at the general store for a lot less, and it’ll tell the time just fine, I reckon.

This whole thing got me thinkin’. Time’s a funny thing. It keeps on tickin’, no matter what. Don’t matter if you got a fancy watch or not. So why spend all that money on somethin’ like this Remake Patek Philippe? Just seems like a waste to me. But hey, if you got the money to burn, I guess you can do what you want.

I reckon folks like to show off. That’s what it is. They get this fancy watch, this Patek Philippe, and they wear it around like a prize pig. Want everybody to see it. But what good is it, really? Don’t make you a better person, don’t make the day go by any faster. Just tells the time, same as any other watch.

All this talk about this PP Calatrava 6119R-001 Quote. Well, the quote is high, that much I know. Too high if you ask me. But I reckon there’s always gonna be folks who want the fanciest thing, no matter the cost. And as long as they’re willin’ to pay, I guess somebody’s gonna be sellin’ it to ’em, even if it comes from as far away as Japan.
