Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get my hands on this OMEGA Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary watch for a while now. I’ve always been a fan of the Speedmaster line, and the Snoopy connection just makes it even cooler. Finally decided to pull the trigger and wanted to share how I got it.
First off, I started with some looking around online. Browsed a bunch of websites that sell watches to get an idea of the price range. I saw that it’s not a limited edition, but it’s still pretty hard to find. This specific watch celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Silver Snoopy Award, which NASA gave to OMEGA, that’s why it is so special.
After getting a sense of the market, I decided to check out the official OMEGA website, also some other famous watch websites. They have all the details about the watch, like the calibre 3861 movement, which is apparently a big deal. It’s an update from the old 1861 movement. And the caseback has an animated Snoopy, how awesome is that! Read some more, the silver dial is engraved with Ag925 or something like that, and there’s a little Snoopy in a spacesuit on one of the subdials. Also noticed that the watch is around 14 bucks.
Then I called some local authorized dealers in my area. Most of them didn’t have it in stock, but one place said they could order it for me. So I went down to the store, talked to the salesperson, and placed the order. They told me it would take a few weeks to arrive.

I paid for the watch, and they helped me size the bracelet. I put it on my wrist, and it felt amazing. It’s a bit hefty, but in a good way. You can really feel the quality.
Finally Wearing the Watch
Been wearing the watch for a few days now, and I love it. It’s definitely a conversation starter. People keep asking me about it, especially the Snoopy on the back. It’s such a fun detail. And the watch keeps great time, which is what you expect from an OMEGA, right? Overall, I’m super happy with this purchase. It was a bit of a process to get it, but totally worth it in the end. This Speedmaster is a keeper!
