Okay, here’s my blog post about messing around with that Omega Speedmaster watch, the Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon” one:
So, I got my hands on this OMEGA Speedmaster 310.92.44.50.01.001, you know, the Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon” edition. It’s a pretty slick watch, and I was itching to see what makes it tick, literally.
Getting Started
First off, I did a bit of digging online. Found some listings on those watch sites, like Chrono24 and eBay. Seems like this model is a popular one. Saw a bunch of prices, some new, some used, all that jazz. Gave me a good idea of what this thing is worth on the market.
Diving In
Next, I carefully took a look at the watch itself. This isn’t my first rodeo, so I know how delicate these things can be. I noticed it’s called “Dark Side of the Moon” for a reason. It’s got this cool, dark look to it, all sleek and black. The main plate and bridges inside have this textured, moon-relief thing going on, which is pretty neat.

Wrapping Up
All in all, messing around with this OMEGA Speedmaster was a blast. It’s a well-made watch, with a lot of cool features and a great design. It’s definitely a piece that’s meant to be appreciated, both for its looks and its performance. And if you’re into space or the Apollo missions, that’s just the icing on the cake. I’m not saying you should go out and buy one, but if you do, you’ll probably enjoy it as much as I did.
