That Patek Philippe, my goodness, it’s a fancy name for a watch. And this here Calatrava 6119R-001, they say it’s a real good one. Cost more than my whole house, I reckon!
They call it a remake, like when you patch up an old pair of pants. Only this watch, it ain’t old, it’s just made to look that way. Classic style, they say. Like them old-timey pocket watches your grandpa used to carry. Only this one goes on your wrist.
- This Patek Philippe Calatrava, it’s all shiny and gold. Rose gold, they call it. Not like the gold on my teeth, this is the real fancy kind.
- And the back, you can see all the little parts moving around. Like a tiny little city in there, all working together. They call it a sapphire crystal case back. Fancy words for a see-through back.
- They say it’s 39mm big. I don’t know what that means, but it ain’t too big, ain’t too small. Just right for a fella, or a lady with a good eye, I suppose.
And it got this thing, this Calatrava, called a “caliber”. Like a gun, only this one’s for telling time. This one’s a 30-255 PS, whatever that means. Hand-wound, too. You gotta wind it up yourself, like them old clocks. No batteries in this here remake Patek Philippe.
Now this watch, this Patek Philippe 6119R, it’s got a silver face. Real pretty, like a full moon on a clear night. And it’s got these little lines on the edge, they call it a hobnail pattern. Looks like the bottom of your work boots, only fancier. They call that “Clous de Paris.” Sounds like something you’d eat, but it ain’t.
And this new model, this PP Calatrava, it’s got a long reserve. That means it keeps ticking for a good long time, even if you don’t wind it every day. Like a good mule, it keeps going and going. Sixty-five hours, they say. That’s more than two whole days!
This here remake Patek Philippe, they say it costs over $32,000. Can you believe that? That’s more money than I made in my whole life. I could buy a whole herd of cows for that kind of money. And a new tractor, too! It is a lot of money for this classic style.

They say it’s a new model, this Calatrava 6119R-001. Came out in 2021. Still new, but they’re already calling it a classic style. They like those fancy words, these watch people. This remake Patek Philippe is like a new dress made to look like your grandma’s Sunday best.
It’s a pretty watch, I’ll give it that. But for that kind of money, I’d rather have a new roof on the barn and a whole lot of chickens. Still, if you got the money to burn, and you like fancy things, this Patek Philippe Calatrava might just be the watch for you. Just don’t drop it in the well!
This Calatrava Patek is sure something. They say it is a symbol of Patek Philippe’s style. I guess that means fancy and expensive. And this remake Patek Philippe, it’s like a little piece of history, all wrapped up in gold and ticking away on your wrist. It is a real classic style. But me, I’ll stick to my old Timex. It tells the time just fine, and it don’t cost an arm and a leg. And I need that leg for walking up to check on them cows!
These watch folks, they sure do love their fancy words. But at the end of the day, a watch is a watch. It tells the time. And this here Patek Philippe, it does that. Just costs a whole lot more than any watch I ever seen. Still, if you are into this classic style, then you might like it.
