Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another crazy project. This time, I decided to tackle a remake of the Patek Philippe Gondolo 7042/100G-010. Yeah, that super luxurious, diamond-studded beauty. Now, I know what you’re thinking – this guy’s nuts! But hey, where’s the fun in playing it safe, right?
So, I started by gathering all the info I could find about this watch. I scoured the internet, looked up every picture, every spec, every little detail about the Gondolo 7042/100G-010. This watch is a beast – 31mm by 34.8mm, 18k white gold case, baguette diamonds all over the bezel and lugs, and that stunning pearl and white gold strap. It’s like they took a handful of diamonds and just threw them at a watch.
- First, I needed the case. I opted for 316L stainless steel because, let’s be real, 18k white gold is a bit out of my budget. Plus, 316L is tough stuff.
- Then came the bezel. I went with a fluted bidirectional rotatable design. It gives that classy look without being too over the top. And diamonds? I found some pretty convincing cubic zirconia that sparkle just like the real deal. I carefully set each one into the bezel.
- Next up, the dial. The original has a diamond-paved dial, but I decided to go with a bright black dial. It’s a bit different, but I like the contrast. It’s clean, it’s sharp, and it really makes those zirconia diamonds pop.
- The strap was a bit tricky. I couldn’t find anything that matched the original’s pearl and white gold look, so I settled for a high-quality white leather strap. It’s not the same, but it still looks pretty darn good.
Putting it all together was like solving a really complicated puzzle. I took my time, made sure every piece fit perfectly. And the movement? I used a reliable quartz movement. It’s not a manual like the original, but it keeps time like a champ. I just want a good-looking watch, not a money machine.
After hours of work, I finally finished. And you know what? It turned out pretty awesome. It’s not a perfect replica, but it captures the essence of the Gondolo 7042/100G-010. It’s got the bling, it’s got the style, and it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. I wear it with proud and feel myself full of energy.
So, there you have it – my adventure in remaking a Patek Philippe masterpiece. It was a wild ride, but I learned a ton and ended up with a watch that I’m really proud of. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments!
