Okay, here’s my process of remaking a PRADA Dynamique Hobo Bag, hope you enjoy it.

I saw this PRADA Dynamique Hobo Bag the other day and thought, “Hey, I can probably make that!” So, I decided to give it a try. I’m not a professional bag maker, but I’m pretty handy with a sewing machine and have made a few simple bags before. This one looked a bit more complicated, but I was up for the challenge.

First things first, I needed to gather my materials. I found some nice, sturdy fabric that looked similar to the original bag. I also grabbed some lining material, a zipper, and some hardware for the strap. I didn’t have a pattern, so I spent some time studying pictures of the bag online and sketching out my own pattern pieces. It took a few tries to get the shapes and sizes right, but I finally got something I was happy with.

Next, I cut out all my fabric pieces. This part was a bit tedious, but I took my time to make sure everything was accurate. I then started assembling the bag. I sewed the outer pieces together, added the zipper, and then attached the lining. This was definitely the most challenging part of the project. There were a lot of curves and corners to deal with, and it took a lot of patience to get everything lined up correctly.

  • Sewing the main body of the bag wasn’t too bad, but that zipper… oh boy.
  • Getting the curves right on the hobo shape was a real pain. I had to unpick and resew a few times.
  • Figuring out how to attach the strap was also tricky. I ended up winging it a bit and it seems to have worked.

After many hours of work, I finally finished the bag! It’s not an exact replica of the PRADA, but I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. It’s definitely got that hobo bag vibe, and it’s the perfect size for carrying my everyday essentials. I did my best, the result made me happy!

What I learned

This was a fun project, and I learned a lot in the process. I’m definitely more confident in my bag-making skills now. I might even try making another designer-inspired bag in the future. Who knows, maybe I’ll even start selling them! Just kidding… unless? Anyway, it was a great experience and I’m happy to share it with you all.
