CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch Sapphire – Is the Cal.3861 Classic Style Worth It? Check This Out

Okay, so, I’ve been eyeing this OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch for a while now, the one with the sapphire crystal and the Cal.3861 movement. It’s a classic style, and I finally decided to pull the trigger and get a copy.

First off, I started by doing some digging online. I knew I wanted that classic Speedmaster look, so I spent hours looking at pictures of real ones, studying the fonts, the logo, the markings on the dial – you know, really getting a feel for what it should look like. And that laser etching on the back? I learned that’s apparently a big deal for spotting fakes.

Then came the ordering. I found a source that seemed pretty legit, placed the order, and waited. And waited. It felt like forever, but finally, the package arrived.

Unboxing Time!

I ripped open that box like a kid on Christmas morning. Inside, nestled in all that padding, was the watch. My first impression? It looked pretty darn good.

  • The dial was sharp, just like the real ones I’d been studying.
  • The sapphire crystal? Super clear. Way better than the Hesalite I read about. I guess it’s supposed to be tougher, too, made of some kind of “crystalline aluminum oxide.” Sounds fancy.

I wound it up – it’s manual winding, not automatic, which is what I wanted. There’s just something cool about winding a watch yourself, you know? This Cal.3861 movement is supposed to be an updated version of some older movement, the 1873, maybe? And this movement is supposed to have some “coaxial” thing that makes it more accurate and need less servicing. Plus, it’s got some kind of certification, “META” or something. Sounds good to me!

I’ve been wearing it for a few days now, and I gotta say, I’m loving it. It feels solid, looks great, and it’s just got that classic vibe I was going for. I know the real Speedmasters hold their value, especially the older ones, so hopefully, this copy will at least not lose too much. It’s more about having that classic look for me, though.

All in all, I’m pretty happy with this purchase. It’s a great-looking watch, it keeps good time, and it’s got that classic Speedmaster style. If you’re thinking about getting one, I’d say go for it – just make sure you do your homework first and find a good source!
